Snowdor (think 'Sodor' then think 'snow') is a simple 'train set' layout referred to within the club as 'Thomas in the snow'. Designed and built to fit into a shop window for a Christmas display the layout is operationally very simple, an oval of track with a passing station. Motion is controlled by a Heathcote station stop module plus two 'IR DOT' detectors. These allow a train to be left running with random stops at the station and appropriate control of a two aspect colour light signal.

A two road engine shed allows for parking and display of other locomotives from the Hornby Thomas range. Similarly all the railway items are from Hornby train sets and accessories so as to be easily recognisable to young children. The scene is completed with a small wood and a few of Thomas's friends by Ertel.

After several years faithful service this layout has been scrapped, well the rails were wearing out.
