There isn't complete agreement as to Bentley St. Johns being the group's first layout as it was built whilst we were at school (by 'we' I refer to the hard core responsible for launching the group in it's current guise). However I thought I'd publish these pictures anyway given their 'historical significance'.
The layout was exhibited at the Wyvern centre in Swindon somewhere around 1975.  Some of the scenery had to be finished on site, a consequence being that dismantling the layout required the use of a hacksaw blade to seperate certain boards.  To me it seemed particularly ironic that the stand next to us was for Pendon Museum.
